This position will require supervising the Quality Control Inspectors at the Skylab Facility and assisting the Sr. Quality Assurance Manager in the Quality Department. In addition, this role serves as a liaison between customers and internal departments to maintain quality systems, understand quality standards, and lead the resolution of quality issues.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise Quality Inspectors across multiple shifts and multiple departments as applicable and/or required.
  • Manage all direct reports, coaching to obtain maximum performance and results.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • SOP/WI development.
  • Utilize key measurement data to develop a quality plan with clear definition of objectives and actions with timelines.
  • Use quality techniques to reduce process variations or refine process parameters based on results.
  • Assist in problem-solving techniques, investigating and recommending new techniques in statistical quality assurance systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and failure investigation.
  • Assist in the identification, tracking, and trending of Corrective and Preventive Actions to ensure timely closure.
  • Act as plant resource to standardize formal investigations through process evaluation, template development, and training.
  • Assist Quality Manager to determine root causes of quality issues.
  • Manage corrective action plan implementation.
  • Analyze customer complaints.
  • Must have reliable and consistent attendance as well as be punctual and dependable to meet the department's and the organization's needs.
  • Provide training to new/current employees of the Quality team and work on process improvements.
  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily to perform the job successfully.
  • Follow all safety procedures required in the work area, wear PPE as needed, attend all safety meetings, and report safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
  • Perform effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receiving and giving feedback, and treat everyone with respect.
  • Take ownership of own work and behavior, accept accountability for own actions, encourage solutions, and communicate status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to the immediate manager.
  • Able to understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture and display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understand the department's key performance indicators and contribute to achieving these goals both individually and as a team.
  • Other duties as needed or required.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Must have a working knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, and equipment such as gauges, meters, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Must have very strong communication skills to work closely with team members; both internal and external.
  • Computer experience utilizing MS Office.
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal - English).
  • Knowledge of quality theories, preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate team building and a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of elements of line process inspections, preferred.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Requires analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication both verbal & written.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Technical understanding and hands-on experience in the plastics industry, position related to Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing area is highly desirable.
  • Strong oral, written, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
