This is a journey level position performing Information Technology System Administrator job duties. Employee should have knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of Microsoft SQLServer database and web system administration (IIS, Apache Tomcat); principles, practices, and procedures of data management; operational characteristics of server operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, and Unix; and methods and techniques to develop, test, and implement database or web application systems.The Information Technology System Administrator III (Web/Application and/or SQL Server Administrator) will have the expertise in Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and newer, SQL Server databases administration 2012 and newer, Microsoft SharePoint System Administration, Apache and Microsoft IIS. The Information Technology System Administrator III will assist the Senior System Administrator to troubleshoot, monitor, analyze, and document systems, applications, operating on Microsoft Windows and Linux servers on various platforms. This may entail performing software installation, upgrade, and patches. The Information Technology System Administrator III may assist with the management and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server databases, websites, multi-tier applications, and Microsoft SharePoint applications/sites as well as assist the Senior System Administrator with new projects and system or application implementation.Schedule: 44/36, Monday through Friday/Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.Hybrid: Metropolitan's current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.Travel: This position will require travel to various District facilities throughout the service area, sometimes requiring overnight stay in the project area.This job announcement has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees in this classification/job.EMPLOYMENT STANDARDSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience.A degree in a related field is defined as: Computer Information System or Computer Science or related.Relevant Experience is defined as: two years of experience if you have a Master's degree or four years of experience if you have a Bachelor's degree in deploying, configuring, administering, and debugging: Windows and Linux servers, web servers (such as IIS, Apache, WebLogic or JBoss); OR Microsoft SharePoint & web certificates or Microsoft SQL Server databases.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTSEmployees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.CLOSINGBenefits:
