support, and tools to teach children about America's blessings and
limitless opportunities. Our aim is inoculating children against
the indoctrination being taught in government schools today, and we
will do this through a variety of edutainment content/programming,
live events, newsletters and community. We have a unique niche in
providing supplemental educational material for children, all of
which is non-partisan in nature.This is a new role for an
established executive that will work closely with the Creative and
Production elements of the Kids team and report to the CEO. We need
someone with extensive creative development experience, a strong
production foundation, leadership experience, and the ability to
develop new product lines that fall within our unique 'edutainment'
angle. The ideal candidate should be both a "doer" and a
"conductor" by writing scripts, fleshing out ideas, galvanizing
team members, and developing and communicating visions within the
PragerU way. Must have proven interest and experience with
children's content/education and a strong understanding of the
target market.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bridge the gap between the Education team and the Production
team. Understand and contribute to what we want to teach, and
devise how best to teach it using appropriate resources and
lower-level budgets ($5-20k/episode in-house).
- Understand kids programming and how to present educational
topics within specific age ranges, working closely with CEO and
show producers. Learn from teachers and educators how to best teach
a topic, and channel those lessons into visual mediums.
- Write scripts, creative briefs, show bibles, SOP's, and more.
Execute treatments and scripts, answering the questions: "What
happens on screen? What do we see/hear?" Spearhead writing
assignments directly, as well as be able to work collaboratively
with other writers, educators, and producers.
- Understand company goals and project goals, and help set and
maintain "north stars" as projects move through development and
into production.
- Bring your own show ideas to the table, as well as organize and
develop ideas from others. Move macro ideas into detailed
development stages.
- Understand available Production resources and processes in
order to guide show development into acceptable scope ranges. Work
closely with show producers on translating creative into the
execution phase.
- Work within short deadlines and changing priorities, and hold
team members accountable to deadlines and expectations.
- Master the PragerU brand and philosophies, from big-picture
thinking to creative objectives to process standards.
- Be able to inspire and galvanize team members in a growing
company landscape with moving goal posts.Successful Candidates Will
Possess:
- 5-10+ years of creative development experience, including
significant writing abilities. The ideal candidate will also have a
strong foundation in production processes.
- Solid understanding of the children's educational landscape and
how to effectively create content for children (live action,
animated, books, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to ensure content is tailored to young
audiences in an age-appropriate manner, balancing education and
entertainment ("edutainment").
- Ability to work with startup-type-hustle and not
overcomplicate.
- Strong communication skills are imperative, especially in
regards to communicating ideas and processes clearly and succinctly
to non-"industry" personnel.
- Adhere to established processes and structures, including
working closely with Heads of Production and show producers to
maintain consistency.
- Top-notch organizational and time management skills. Ability to
manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize appropriately,
and be flexible in an extremely fast-paced environment
(seriously!).
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills with internal
Production staff (producers, writers, editors, etc.) and other
departments (education, marketing, web, etc.). You need to be a
great galvanizer, show solid discernment, and also manage up
effectively.
- A true Team Player, proactive, helpful, honest, and calm under
pressure. This is a no-ego environment where no task is too
small.
- Flexible and able to "roll with the punches" within an
ever-changing game plan, and able to problem-solve on the fly.How

$100,000 - $150,000+. Final offer amounts depend on multiple
factors including candidate experience and expertise, and most
recent market data. This position is eligible for an annual bonus
based on personal and company performance, in addition to our
robust benefits package. The final candidate hired may potentially
have less or more experience than originally posted as per job
description, and if this happens, an updated salary range may be
