In this role, you will be responsible for administering, coordinating, and evaluating people-related needs and functions supporting multiple operating locations in the Western United States.These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage:

    • Guides leaders in California employment law, union negotiations, and labor relations
    • Collaborates with Talent Acquisition for effective recruitment
    • Conducts assigned ethics and policy investigations
    • Advises on Team Member relations, including coaching and performance management
    • Oversees performance management and leadership development for compliance and equity
    • Manages workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and regulatory compliance
    • Promotes Team Member engagement and diversity initiatives
    • Monitors morale and engagement to uphold company culture
    • Communicates policies and resolves conflicts with leadership and Team Members
    • Supports and communicates company initiatives as needed
    • Advises on restructuring, workforce, and succession planning
    • Recommends career development and training plans for Team Members and Leaders
    • Participates in special projects for Business Units and the People Group
    • Enhances work relationships and morale with front-line leaders and Team Members
    • Provides HR policy guidance and recommends improvements
    • Delivers targeted training for leadership and Team MembersRequirements to Be Successful in This Position:
      • Demonstrated experience supporting a workforce in California, with a strong understanding of California employment laws
      • Background in corporate policies and best practices, with mid-level HR knowledge demonstrated through experience in coaching and counseling managers
      • Innovative thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to develop and run basic reports and execute assigned projects
      • Ability to travel 25% or more as neededPreferred Education/Experience:
        • Required: Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is strongly preferred
        • At least ten years of experience as an HR Generalist or Business Partner with increasing levels of responsibility
        • Knowledge of labor law and experience working with unionized workforces.
        • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
        • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, supply chain, transportation, or logistics industriesAdditional Information:
