Work That Matters.OverviewPurpose Statement/Position Summary: The
Research Post Doc Fellow will study novel CAR T-cell and
immunotherapies in pre-clinical models of childhood neuroblastoma
in the laboratory of Dr. Shahab Asgharzadeh in the research section
of the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) at Children's
Hospital Los Angeles, Keck School of Medicine, and University of
Southern California. Dr. Asgharzadeh's laboratory investigates
various aspects of immunotherapies in relation to the tumor
microenvironment in mouse models of neuroblastoma. The Post doc
Fellow will be in training to help develop the academic knowledge
and research fundamentals, teaching expertise and administrative
experience necessary to be an exemplary researcher. Perform
laboratory work and conduct research activities independently or in
collaboration with the Principal Investigator. Publish results in
scientific manuscripts and research publications. Participate in
seminars, meetings, trainings and other educational sessions. The
postdoctoral fellow will benefit from being part of a large group
of investigators focused on the tumor microenvironment at CBDI and
The Saban Research Institute of Children's Hospital Los Angeles and
the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center of USC.Minimum
Qualifications/Work Experience: Exposure to and/or experience in
research in a healthcare environment preferred.
