power of our differences.Manager, Public Transportation:LA28's
Manager, Public Transportation will support the coordination of the
overall development and implementation of LA28's Transportation
(TRA) projects, by managing complex collaboration across LA28's
functional areas and external partners while maintaining
credibility and ensuring key milestones are met. This role will
support project management for the Games Mobility Executives and
the Transportation functional area (FA). This candidate will
deliver tracking for milestones across the TRA FA, provide high
level administrative support and provide project management and
eventual delivery of projects with the Games Mobility Executive
(Caltrans, Metro, LA28, Metrolink, LADOT, LA Mayors Office, SCAG).
This candidate should be proactive, organized, and with strong
communication skills. LA28's Manager, Public Transportation will
report directly to LA28's Sr, Manager, Public Transportation while
working closely with the leaders across LA28's Functional Areas.Key
Responsibilities:Project Planning and Coordination:
- Support and coordinate over 120 milestones to be delivered
across the Transportation team at LA28
- Develop planning strategies, risk and cost analysis supporting
the delivery of milestones and overarching strategy of the
transportation team
- Support and develop strategies for project management of the
Games Mobility Executive including supporting more than 12
subcommittees spanning 15 priority projects with project management
strategy and supportReporting and Documentation:
- Document integrated strategies from the transportation team and
leading the development and delivery of the Games Mobility and
Transportation Strategy document
- Support the creation of deliverables for the Transportation
functional area
- Manage the Games Mobility Executive information governance and
strategic yearly planning approachStakeholder Engagement:
- Develop key cross functional relationships to understand wider
business interdependencies and requirements for transportation
team
- Support key business relationships including strategy, IOC &
IPC, finance and SPMO to ensure delivery of TRA milestones
- Engage with key external transportation partners to ensure
delivery of key information as required internally for examples
Games Route Network delivery.Background & Qualifications:
- A strong knowledge of transportation planning and operations,
with a clear track record of successfully coordinating with
multiple agencies and stakeholders to deliver complex
transportation projects.
- Direct experience managing, delivering, and/or operating
transportation operations and/or special event traffic management
systems at the local level.
- Strong business acumen with exceptional strategic thinking and
project management skills.
- Aptitude for prioritizing and planning multi-stakeholder
initiatives, providing direction when needed, empowering others,
and removing obstacles to get work done.
- Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and
collaborate at all organizational levels and across all partner
groups.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability
to educate others on complex technical concepts, and to lead,
facilitate, and present to large and small groups.
- Ability to gather and assess data and produce technical reports
and/or slide decks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
required.
- Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and

- A Bachelor's degree in transportation planning or engineering,
urban planning, or related field/equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning,
design, construction, operations, and/or maintenance, particularly
as a part of a public transportation agency capitol program and/or
annual work plan, or similar field preferred.The annual base salary
range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000.LA28 is committed to
