Los Angeles County and beyond.Position OverviewThe Vice President
of Impact Operations provides operational leadership and team
management for Liberty Hill Foundation's programs, ensuring that
the systems, processes, and structures are in place to advance the
organization's North Star of building power in communities most
impacted by systemic oppression. This senior leadership role drives
the effective implementation of the Foundation's Strategic Plan by
operationalizing strategic objectives and embedding accountability,
efficiency, and collaboration into daily programmatic
activities.Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer (CIO), the VP of
Impact Operations works closely with the VP of Impact Strategy to
align operational execution with strategic priorities. This role
supervises programmatic leaders and supports supervisors, fostering
team cohesion and a culture of mentorship, accountability, and
professional growth. The VP ensures the seamless coordination of
workflows, compliance frameworks, and evaluation processes,
enabling measurable progress toward organizational goals.This
position offers an exceptional opportunity to strengthen Liberty

Foundation's work.What you will doOperational Leadership
- Oversee the operational management of Programs, ensuring the
seamless implementation of organizational workflows, standard
operating procedures (SOPs), and decision-making and project
management frameworks.
- Partner with the CIO to ensure alignment between programmatic
strategy and day-to-day operations within the Impact area.
- Develop and maintain systems for tracking operational
performance, program milestones, and team outcomes to support
data-informed decision-making.
- Lead performance-based and outcome-based program staff.
- Operationalize strategies to achieve strategic goals.Team
Supervision, Mentorship, and Development
- Supervise and mentor senior program leaders and operational
staff, providing thought partnership and support to
supervisors.
- Establish accountability structures and coaching frameworks to
help supervisors develop their leadership skills, effectively
manage their teams, and meet program objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth,
and collaboration across the Impact team, with a strong focus on
equity and inclusion.
- Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and thought partnership to
help team members navigate challenges and identify opportunities
for growth and innovation.Collaboration and Integration
- Serve as a key operational liaison between Programs and other
Impact functions (e.g., Advancement) to ensure alignment and shared
goals.
- Partner with departments such as Finance, Communications, and
Operations to optimize cross-team collaboration and drive
efficiency.
- Work closely with the CIO to align programmatic execution with
the broader organizational vision and strategic
framework.Compliance and Process Improvement
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all Liberty Hill policies,
grant requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within Program
Operations and implement solutions to optimize effectiveness and
impact.
- Support the integration of evaluation and learning processes to
strengthen program outcomes and organizational
adaptability.Strategic Alignment and Support
- Partner with the CIO to support the implementation of long-term
programmatic strategies and organizational goals.
- Ensure alignment between operational execution and the CIO's
vision for Programs and Advancement, contributing to high-level
planning and decision-making.
- Support initiatives that embed evaluation, learning, and
innovation across programmatic efforts.
- Enhance, flesh out, and implement organizational vision as
established in the strategic plan.What you will have
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
experience preferred with a strong emphasis on lived
experience.
- 8+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit program
operations or management.
- 5+ years in senior management roles overseeing complex
operations and supervising diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of organizational standard operating
procedures, decision-making, and compliance frameworks.
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and excellence in
organizational and project management with the ability to achieve
strategic objectives and manage a budget.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and coaching team
leaders.
- Expertise in program evaluation, continuous improvement
processes, and systems optimization.Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Liberty Hill's mission, programs, and
strategic priorities.
- Knowledge of grant compliance, reporting, and donor
stewardship.Physical Asks:
- Ability to engage in a hybrid remote work environment in our
shared downtown co-working space or working remotely.
- Must live in Los Angeles County and be available for
face-to-face collaboration as needed.
