Compliance helps ensure our organization meets all regulatory and
statutory compliance requirements and industry standards across
various domains, including data protection, cybersecurity, ADA,
ABC, PCI, OSHA, wage & hour, labor, environmental regulations,
youth sport programming, and consumer protection. This position
requires a proactive and strategic individual with a strong
understanding of compliance practices and policies, ability to
learn a diverse set of compliance requirements, and excellent
project management skills. In addition to guiding compliance
initiatives and tracking requirements and compliance activities,
the Director, Compliance will play a critical role in establishing,
implementing, and overseeing the organization's compliance
governance at an enterprise level. This individual will work
closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to
shape the compliance framework that can be applied across multiple
disciplines, develop policies and procedures, implement trainings,
and serve as a steward for the organization's compliance culture.
Working within the Legal Department, the Director, Compliance's
work will enable our in-house attorneys to streamline their
compliance-related efforts and remain focused on providing
strategic and legal advice.Responsibilities
- Design and implement the organization's enterprise compliance
management and governance approach.
- Collaborate with business and operations leaders to integrate
compliance strategies into the organization's business objectives
and operational planning.
- Develop and oversee processes and protocols to promote
adherence to regulatory and statutory requirements and industry
standards across various domains (data protection, cybersecurity,
ADA, ABC, PCI, OSHA, wage & hour, labor, environmental, and
consumer protection).
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and work with
key stakeholders to review and update company policies and
procedures accordingly.
- Conduct regular reviews, audits and risk assessments to
identify potential compliance issues and implement corrective
actions.
- Identify training needs and collaborate with the legal and HR
team to develop and implement compliance-focused training
programs.
- Work closely with Legal team members and other business leaders
to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into business
operations and remediation measures are fully implemented.
- Provide guidance and support to departments on compliance
matters and best practices.
- Oversee compliance projects from initiation to completion,
ensuring timely and effective execution as project manager as
assigned, or owner as assigned.
- Develop and maintain tracking systems for compliance
requirements and efforts and manage and deliver data metrics around
compliance efforts.
- Prepare and present regular reports on compliance status,
issues, and initiatives.
- Provide detailed and accurate information on compliance efforts
to support legal evaluations and decision-making processes.
- Deploy change management techniques to enable the business to
implement and maintain compliance-related actions in a practical,
efficient and effective manner.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Skills
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 10 years of experience in a compliance role, with at
least 2 years in a compliance leadership role.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics
Professional (CCEP), Certified Information Systems Security
Professional (CISSP)) are a plus.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle
multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide strategic leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional
teams.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceEducation - Bachelor's
