Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.Job DescriptionPosition
Summary:The Director of Engineering is responsible for pipelines,
manufacturing projects, and additional Six Sigma work through
Permaswage. This position works with local management to define the
project opportunity, goals, scope of effort, and deliverables, as
well as develops and manages key project timelines to ensure timely
completion and measurable results to improve business performance.
Completion of the objectives will be measured both in EBIT
increase, as well as ingraining the Six Sigma/LEAN methodology into
the facility's culture. The position is responsible for developing
executive project updates and troubleshooting projects that are at
risk for not meeting commitments.Primary Duties &
Responsibilities:
- Integrate Engineering activities with functions of Marketing,
Methods, Manufacturing, Material, and Quality Assurance to ensure
coordination necessary for optimum performance of various product
programs. Provide technical expertise regarding competitor
products.
- Develop and maintain policy and directives concerning
Engineering including those which reconcile differences between
various customers, government agencies, vendors, corporate, and
division operating requirements.
- Provide engineering contributions, leadership, and training
support to project management team for New Product Development, to
Statistical Process Control (SPC) Steering Committee.
- Plan and maintain oversight of operational goals for
organizational entities directed to design and document
state-of-the-art products and associated processes.
- Establish and maintain control over product configuration and
Engineering operations, schedules, budgets, and changes. Maintain
technical data and submit documentation and reports to management
and customer.
- Study and design product objectives for application to aircraft
and aerospace vehicles. Establish requirements to be imposed on
product systems, components, and tooling, and develop data on
desirability and feasibility of alternate concepts.
- Establish design criteria for product systems with constraints
for weight, space, material containment, and reliability for
operational success. Determine product operational capabilities and
limitations from stress analysis and dynamic simulation
studies.
- Prepare designs, layouts, and specifications for product
assemblies, components, and related tooling. Provide technical
management for procurement of specific assemblies, systems, or
processing used in association with the manufacture of company
products. Determine materials to be used in products based on
stress or dynamic analysis, weight, and space control. Determine
manufacturing processes and methods considering company
manufacturing capability, when practical.

- Proven ability to lead large organization in a fast-paced short
cycle manufacturing environment.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement
ability.
- Ability to understand and apply the production planning
processes.
- Ability to apply lean manufacturing methodology, and
problem-solving skills to drive business improvements in a
metric-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a strategic plan to meet key
business objectives/metrics in the areas of Safety, Quality,
Delivery, Inventory, and Cost.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Must be computer literate, particularly in spreadsheet;
financial; inventory and production planning and tracking
applications.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and deliver results
in conformance with action plans.Desired Skills:
- Experience with New Product Introduction processes and best
practices.
- Technical competence: Experience with design for CNC processing
and capabilities of various types of processing capabilities.
- Deep materials knowledge as it applies to aerospace
applications.
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Statistical Process
Control.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Proven leadership in Fasteners, Aerospace, or similar
Industry.Experience & Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline. Master's degree in
technical field or MBA is highly preferred.
- 7 years of progressive manufacturing design leadership
experience and responsibility.
- Experience leading people and obtaining results through others,
with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of driving results in a creative
manufacturing environment.All qualified applicants will receive

informational purposes only, the range for annual base salary for
this role is $200,000 to $250,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on
a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in the
Company's Executive Bonus Plan, paid out up to 40% of the
applicable annual base salary, based on the Company's performance
in the prior calendar year. Employees will receive 120 hours paid
time off every year, as well as 10 paid holidays. Employees (and
their families) are eligible to participate in the company's
medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are
eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.The position will
also be eligible to participate in the Company's Long-Term
Incentive Program.This position requires use of information or
access to production processes subject to national security
controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including,
but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations
(ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be
qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be
a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply
evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be
authorized to receive controlled information under a specific
license or permission from the relevant government agency.
