creating. The Flight Avionics Team is searching for an Electrical
Subsystem Interconnect Engineer with experience in electrical
interface types, connectors, harness development and interconnect
schematics design. The focus of this role is to work with subsystem
owners and develop an interconnect model. The interconnect model
prescribes a system design and is used to inform cable design and
electrical performance parameters. Interconnect models are used
throughout a program lifecycle to capture the details of the design
during development phase and later used for test validation of
electrical parameters. Electrical Subsystem Interconnect Engineer
collaborates with multiple subsystem responsible engineers,
mechanical harness design teams, and works in conjunction with
electronics system architects. What you will do:
- Work environment is primarily in an office and lab environment
and may include occasional field work.
- Assignments may include integration and validation of
electronics; analysis of hardware designs; influence architecture
development/refinement; developing and documenting subsystem
requirements and test plans; peer reviews of designs as a subject
matter expert; presentations to peers, management, and government
customers; and root-cause failure investigations.
- Assignments may require supporting multiple programs.
- Assignments may require being in a lab environment utilizing
lab instrumentation and test equipment.
- Assignments may require some travel, including foreign
travel.
- Collaboration with both Functional and Program higher level
management.
- Collaboration with Customer and Suppliers.
- Collaborate with program leadership and system stakeholder from
all disciplines for model definition.
- Compile inputs from system requirements, architecture,
electrical interface parameters, schematics, and hardware
specifications into interconnect model
- Knowledge in schematic capture tools such as Mentor Capital or
similar
- Experience with system block diagrams, interconnect diagrams,
harness schematics, electrical interface parameters, and harness
components (connectors & wires)
- Collaborate with mechanical harness design teams on cable
design and routing.
- Familiar with interface specs, high speed digital interface,
power distribution and general electronic topics -
- Familiar with grounding, shielding topics, signal integrity and
contact arrangements.
- Conduct meetings with stakeholders to align teams with model
status.
- Prepare and conduct peer reviews for model contents.
- Prepare and present packages for engineering review.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of -5 -years of engineering experience. An advanced
degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years
of experience as follows: Master's is equal to 2 years of
experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.
- Experience with -electrical hardware development and/or
testing
- Experience in sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement
development and/or -requirement validation
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret clearance
prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S.
citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We

antennas, analog RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards, and
configurable logic so the ideal candidate will have a background in
detailed design, testing and/or troubleshooting of one or more of
these components in RF applications. Ideal candidates will also

have a desire to grow into engineering fellow.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The
salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of
all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending
