We have a contract opportunity for a Creo Mechanical Design Engineer in Lake Forest California. This position is approved for 2 years. Pay Rate: $55.00 to $57.15/Hr. Summary of Position: Looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design to support the R&D team in Lake Forest, CA. You will be responsible for development of components in a sub-system dictated by R&D as well as performing work and lead technical support staff for completing projects or tasks requested from Simulation and Manufacturing team. Job Responsibilities:

• Assure project progress, resolves technical issues, and escalates when needed.
• Design, develop, and document plastic, die cast, sheet metal, and machine components. and assemblies utilizing Creo Parametric 3D CAD software.
• Create and manage products or sub-system's top-down skeleton level architecture to ensure module interfaces and master model is in alignment with the development process.
• Generating detailed fabrication drawings utilizing GD&T and mechanical tolerance analysis.
• Recommends fabrication and additive manufacturing processes to meet R&D needs, specifically plastic, die casting, sheet metal, and machine component design.
• Develop a network of external suppliers and internal resources within the department.
• Perform fitment and DFM/A checks.
• Ensures the integrity and quality of the Group's output by establishing, maintaining, and enforcing standards, processes & procedures.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement in group procedures, and leads initiatives aimed at continual improvement in efficiency & effectiveness of the group.
• Ensures engineering & -company procedures are followed.
• Mentors, develops, and trains engineers in the use of Creo Parametric software CAD and top-down design and master model methodologies. Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 10-years of work experience
  • Proficient using 3D CAD software Creo Parametric modules: ISDX, Simulate, Pro-Process, Sheet Metal, Large tabulation / Family table set up, Mechanism, Pro-Process, include employing top-down design and master model methodology. SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Design for Manufacturing DFM -& Design for Assembly DFA
  • Demonstrated experience in -materials and specifications for: plastic, die casting, sheet metal, and machine parts. Preferred Qualifications: (not necessary)
    • Working and collaborating with cross functional teams in a fast-paced R&D environment preferably in medical device.
    • Familiar with DRM and ANSI Y14.5 drawing standards for completing drawings for machine, plastic, sheet metal, and die cast components for top-level and module assemblies.
