Job Description:
Heavy Diesel Truck Mechanic The diesel service
technician/mechanic position is responsible for performing highly
diversified duties: inspect, install, troubleshoot, repair. The
diesel service technician/mechanic will maintain fleet and facility
equipment according to safety standards. Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 /hour DOE Experience:
- Diesel Mechanic: 3 years (Required) Qualifications - Required:
- High School Diploma, GED or High School Equivalent
Certificate
- Experience: 3 years
- Class C License
- Knowledge of computerized diagnostic equipment Knowledge,

- Computer Skills Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and
diagnostic testis; identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive
maintenance schedules.
- Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting,
overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major
assemblies, subassemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as,
power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel,
emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; governors, oil systems,
control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
- Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and
repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating
instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive
maintenance.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
- Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by
accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests;
exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of Semi-trucks, Refer
Trailers and Chassis and performs scheduled maintenance
repairs.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform
required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make
adjustments.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly
work areas.
- Must provide own hand tools to complete all assigned
tasks.
- Utilize laptop computers to diagnose problems and adjust engine
functions.
- Perform any other tasks and duties as assigned to support and
improve the overall team operations Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking,
bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all
day.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 25
pounds.
- Working Conditions:
- Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, heat
or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving
