- 100% FTE - 40 hours per week
- Day Shift - UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 -
16:00 (PST), Monday-FridayDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONUW Medicine IT
Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all
of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical
Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW
Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center
(VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW
School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is
responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the
infrastructure and applications which support all these
institutions, along with the implementation of new services and
applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a high level of expertise in assigned domains
- Strategize, develop, enhance, and govern architectural
standards
- Act as a technical lead representing the Infrastructure team on
projects, enterprise planning meetings, and governance
committees
- Collaborate with manager on technical portfolios, research
trends, create 1-3-5-year technology roadmaps, and present
recommendations to leadership
- Optimize the use of technologies and perform cost analysis
- Leverage technical expertise in impactful, enterprise-level
projects
- Develop and deliver training across the department in area of
expertise
- Lead large scale incident resolution and act as Tier 3 support
for technical escalations within the ETS Infrastructure team
- Research, test, and implement tools necessary to manage
computer and storage infrastructure
- Identify and implement automation and improvements to manage
Infrastructure systems
- Provide advice, coaching, and mentorship to team members on
technical expertise
- Serve as the manager's delegate to represent the team for
vendor management, including strategic vendor meetings,
architecture meetings, meetings with technical account managers,
project design meetings, large scale incident resolution, and other
technical leadership needsREQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination
of education/experience
- 6+ years of experience must include:
- 6+ years of experience with administering systems, including 4+
years of experience administering systems that support critical
operations
- 2+ years of experience developing and leading technical
training for teams, and mentoring less experienced technical staff
members
- 6+ years of progressively complex and independent work
experience within system designs and storage solutions
- 6+ years' experience acting as a Server System Administrator on
either Microsoft Windows and/or Unix/Linux platforms
- 6+ years' experience with Enterprise scale server
virtualization and hypervisors, preferably VMware and/or
Nutanix
- 6+ years' experience in storage management, preferably on IBM
and/or NetApp storage platforms
- 6+ years of experience providing advanced support for the
overall health of enterprise systems and technologies
- 2+ years of experience primarily responsible for an enterprise
technology
- 1+ years of managing vendor relationships, including
negotiating maintenance contracts, reviewing periodic service
reviews, and coordinating escalations
- 1+ years of implementing and improving processes
- Active member in local technology user groups and/or other
professional organizations related to area of expertise
- Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining detailed
documentation, including standard operating procedures, system
diagrams, and any other technical documentation, including, 1+
years of managing technical requirements of an enterprise
