one another.The Director of Faculty Development at Azusa Pacific
University is responsible for overseeing faculty development
programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching, learning, and
professional growth. This position plays a pivotal role in guiding
and supporting all faculty members, including full-time, part-time,
senior adjunct, and adjunct, by organizing workshops and
implementing tailored programs to help them effectively teach an
increasingly diverse student population. The Director collaborates
closely with the Office of the Provost, college/school deans,
academic department chairs, and faculty members to ensure that
faculty development efforts align with their requirements. The
primary objective is to cultivate a culture of continuous
improvement and provide support to faculty members as they strive
for professional growth.Required EducationDoctoral degree in an
academic discipline related to pedagogy, teaching-learning, or
educational technology.Required ExperienceMinimum of 3-5 years of
faculty development programs at the university level - pedagogy,
instructional technology, and/or digital learning environments.
Requires familiarity with AI as it relates to teaching and
learning, with the ability to provide both education and support
for APU faculty, as well as expertise in teaching learners from
diverse cultural backgrounds.Primary Duties/Essential Functions
- Develop and implement faculty development programs and
initiatives to enhance the teaching, learning, and professional
growth of all faculty members, including full-time, part-time,
senior adjunct, and adjunct.
- Collaborate in planning and implementing faculty development
events such as New Faculty Orientation, Faculty Evaluation
Training, and Faculty Appreciation Day.
- Provide guidance and support to faculty members through
workshops and training sessions focused on teaching strategies and
pedagogies, curriculum design, classroom observation, educational
technology, inclusive learning principles, and other relevant
topics.
- Respond to Tier 2 and 3 (advanced) instructional support
requests promptly, professionally, and proactively via IT Support
Ticket System.
- Collaborate with college/school deans and academic department
chairs to identify instructional needs and training resources for
their faculty, including adjunct and regional campus faculty.
- Collaborate with other campus stakeholders to advance faculty
development initiatives and resources, including serving (in
consultation with the Vice Provost for Academic Services) on
relevant councils and committees (e.g., Office of Faith
Integration, Faculty Development Council, Accessibility Committee,
various Studies Council, etc.).
- Engage with the Office of Diversity, Faculty Diversity Council,
and Diversity Collaboration Committee to advance the university and
Faculty Development strategic priorities in APU's diverse
community.
- Collaborate with the emerging Office of Faith Integration as it
relates to faculty support for faith integration in the
classroom.
- Active engagement on emerging trends, research, and best
practices in faculty development through self-directed professional
reading, professional networking, conference attendance, and other
relevant training and/or courses as directed by the
supervisor.

them effectively to others.
- Ability to work with various digital platforms and tools.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with other units
across campus to advance faculty development initiatives.Mental

16: $85,197 to $97,977 is the annual salary for this role and
reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay
for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the
qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to
compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.Azusa
