Provider.
Key Responsibilities
Abstract clinical information from medical records and assign
appropriate ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes
Work with coding databases and confirm DRG assignments
Input and maintain data for state or other reporting procedures
Required Qualifications
Associate degree may be required
AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is typically required
1-3 years of related experience, or 0 years with additional
specialized training and/or certification
Works under moderate supervision and is gaining full proficiency in
the discipline
