Applicants from populations historically underrepresented in the theatre field are strongly encouraged to apply.Position SummaryThe Associate Producer, working with the Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director will be one of the lead line producers of CTG's mainstage productions and artistic programs. They will work in collaboration with the artistic team as an integral part of CTG's artistic programs administration, season planning and budgeting as well as a key point of contact among various departments at CTG. The Associate Producer will also support new works development activities and other special projects undertaken by the Artistic Department and as assigned by the Artistic Director.Main Duties:

  • Serve as line producer for assigned special events and mainstage productions.
    • Develop, maintain and reconcile budgets in an accurate and timely manner for productions, readings, workshops and other artistic programs as assigned in coordination with the Management, Artistic, Production and Finance departments.
    • Communicate CTG's goals for the shows to the Creative teams including the size, scale and scope of the physical production.
    • Meet with Directors and Designers throughout the production process to ensure they have everything they need to deliver designs on time and within budget.
    • Work in collaboration with the Production Manager to resolve issues that come up with the physical production elements during the production process.
    • In collaboration with Artistic, Production and Management help to staff the creative teams for shows and special events.
    • Meet regularly with Artistic, Production and Management staff to provide updates, progress reports and address concerns relating to any production or project.
    • In collaboration with Artistic Team: Line produce readings, workshops and specific Artistic programs as needed.
    • Coordinate with other CTG departments to meet logistical needs of artistic department related projects.
    • Attend rehearsals and performances, as needed.
    • In collaboration with the Associate Artistic Directors and/or outside Casting Directors, coordinate the administration for casting sessions as needed.
    • Manage the selection of and oversee departmental interns and fellows.
    • Other duties or projects as assigned.General support to artistic staff
      • Experience integrating practices of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion within this work.
      • Support Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director in implementing artistic vision and activities.
      • Collaborate with artistic staff to support new project development and artist cultivation.
      • Represent the Artistic Department as needed at external events, meetings and conferences.
      • Serve as a liaison between the Artistic department and departments within CTG and The Music Center to ensure a clear flow of information and ideas.Knowledge and Essential Skills
        • At least five years professional experience as a lead producer for live performances or live events with multiple presentations.
        • Experience working on LORT productions and familiarity with relevant union agreements (AEA, SDC, IATSE) a plus.
        • A deep understanding of the theatrical artistic process and strong problem-solving skills and ability to help guide and support the artistic process.
        • Experience acting as the lead producer on co-productions, including commercial producers/presenters, strongly preferred.
        • Demonstrated track record and ongoing commitment to integrating practices of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion within this work.
        • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to an anti-racist work culture.
        • Ability to adapt and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
        • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
        • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
        • Experience with the budgeting process.
        • Ability to lead with the spirit of collaboration, as well as work within a team structure.
        • Ability to remain flexible and professional at all times.
        • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and thrive in a dynamic and fluid environment with multiple co-existing priorities.
