OPPORTUNITY
The Data and Reporting Analyst has a critical role in supporting
Green Dot's mission to prepare students for college, leadership and
life. The Data and Reporting Analyst will play a crucial role in
managing, analyzing, and reporting on data to support data-driven
decision-making, compliance reporting, and information system
support. The Data & Reporting Analyst will support the department
in the areas of data collection, analysis, reporting, and
application support. The Data & Reporting Analyst will work
primarily with student demographic, academic, and accountability
data, but will also be expected to learn and master new systems and
applications quickly. This position is part of the Data and
Analytics team and reports to the Manager of Data Analytics. This
is a role serving as part of Green Dot California's central office
team, primarily based in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will be a
motivated, analytical, detail-oriented individual with a passion
for education.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Management & Analysis:
> Proficiently manage and manipulate extensive datasets using
Excel and SQL databases
> Develop interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau,
providing valuable insights to stakeholders
> Maintain Tableau ecosystem by troubleshooting technical issues
and updating existing dashboards
> Conduct advanced SQL queries to analyze data, generate
comprehensive reports, and audit data migration pipelines
> Provide exceptional service to stakeholders by fulfilling
ad-hoc and recurring data requests, and presenting data stories
that are well-visualized, accurate, and actionable.
> Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute
to the implementation of new systems and procedures that enhance
organizational efficiency
Compliance Reporting:
> Collaborate on local, state, and federal compliance reporting
efforts while documenting best practices
> Streamline processes to ensure efficient, timely, and
error-free compliance reporting and certifications, including pre-
and post-submission audits
> Participate in relevant authorizer, county, and state
compliance meetings or webinars to stay updated on regulatory
requirements
Information System Support:
> Master and maintain various web-based applications, providing
technical assistance to end-users as needed
> Deliver exceptional support through NerdFone (Green Dot's IT,
Info Systems, and Data helpdesk) by proactively investigating and
resolving issues, engaging positively with stakeholders, and
meticulously documenting all cases
> Contribute to state-testing preparation and execution by
providing technical support as required
State Testing:
> Collaborate in the preparation and logistical execution of
state testing activities, ensuring a seamless testing process
QUALIFICATIONS
As an ideal candidates, you:
> have a bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent
work experience
> have 1+ years of experience in data analytics and
reporting
> be proficient in in Excel, SQL, and Tableau
> possess strong analytical skills with the ability to turn
complex data into actionable insights
> have experience with Python or other programming experience (a
plus)
> possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
> have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to
accuracy
> be able to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines
> have previous experience in education or public school systems
(a plus)
> are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid
commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve
> will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of
offer

COMPENSATION
The starting salary range for this position is $71,000 - $77,000.
To allow for salary progression over time, offers at the top of the
range are rare. Individual education and experience will be
considered when issuing offers. In addition, if hired by June 30,
2024, this position qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus,
paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment
(subject to change).
